Vintage Design
Signed Mid-Century modern glass vase by Mona Morales-Schildt for Kosta, Sweden, 1950s. This beautiful vase is made of thick clear glass with some nice optic effects. The vase is from the “Ventana” series, which Mona Morales-Schildt is best known for. Her designs are seemingly simple but there is a complexity in the way light refracts within the crystal and on the surfaces of the vase. Signed: “Kosta | SS 5333″ (see pictures). Height: 19.5 cm / 7.7”; width: 11 cm / 4.3”; depth: 7.5 cm / 3”. Weight: 2.1 kg. Excellent vintage condition.
Mona Morales-Schildt was one of Sweden’s leading glass artists of the 20th century. She was a prominent designer of cased art glass with strong colors and optic effects. Her artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
