French display cabinet with 5 drawers, louis xvi / directoire, 18th century style.
the cabinet is made of beech and poplar, with a combination of rich brown and warm, honey-colored hues, and a varnished finish.
the cabinet rests on 4 legs, the front 2 of which feature some beautifully, carved designs, typical of the style of the period (see photos.)
the piece has 5 drawers that are fully functional and clean. The top drawer features a beautifully carved design pattern, that has its 2, original, brass pull knobs (see photos.) it measures at w: 43 cm x d: 23 cm x h:7 cm. The other 4 drawers, have their original, brass pull handles, designed like laurel wreaths (see photos.) they all measure at w: 43 cm x d: 23 cm x h: 11.5 cm
above the drawers, is a lovely display cabinet with a fixed shelf, and a glass door framed by wood, also with its original, brass, pull knob. The door opens and closes properly. No cracks or chips on the glass. The overall dimensions of the cabinet are: w:51 cm (maximum) x d: 29.5 cm (maximum) x h: 33 cm. The shelf measures at: w: 50 cm x d: 14 cm. Space above the shelf is approximately 16.5 -18 cm and the space below the shelf is a little more than 18 cm.
the piece is in very good, original and vintage condition with some light marks, signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on the overall structure, top, edges, side panels, cabinet interior, drawers, upper drawer trims and legs (see photos.) it has only been gently oiled and waxed, with respect to the original patina of time.
