A stunning and most unique Italian early 19th century Neo-Classical faux painted marble, giltwood and Scagliola console. The console is raised by a beautiful faux painted Porphyry bottom tier with a concave front and most decorative giltwood border. At the center are fine faux painted blueish-gray and white columns with mottled giltwood plinths and foliate carved capitals. At the straight faux painted Porphyry frieze are finely carved giltwood floral rosettes above each leg centering beautifully carved foliate designs centering floral rosettes. Above is the original wonderfully executed Scagliola top to look like a striking Brèche. All original gilt and patina throughout.
