“Art Deco Panther Ganhu Gantcheff Attacked By A Snake Bronze 1930” This panther was made by Ganhu Gantcheff, it bears his signature on the marble base. It is supported by a very beautiful two-storey black marble terrace. It is a panther with a green patina attacked by a snake. The patina is sumptuous, the quality is there, especially in the finesse of the details. Ganhu Gantcheff is a Bulgarian sculptor (1885-1950). He came to Paris in the 1920s and made chryselephantine statuettes in bronze and ivory in the Art Deco style for the Arthur Goldscheider foundry. In 1930, he participated in the salon of the Society of French Artists in Paris. For the state we report slight friction and patina wear, micro-scratches on the base a restoration on the base at an angle (visible in the photos), the bronze is in good general condition. This panther made more than 4600 euros at the hammer. Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the object. The photos are an integral part of the description.
