Boucherouite means “Bu Sherwit” in Arabic, “a piece of old clothes”. Out of necessity and lack of wool, the nomads of Morocco started making these carpets in the 70s. The recycling carpet: usually woven according to own designs, with geometric, asymmetrical patterns. The Boucherouite rug is of undeniable artistic richness and was created without a sketch or a predefined model. This rug is made from 100% natural sheep’s wool and recycled cotton fibres.
