A wonderful antique English gaming counter box dating to the 1920’s / 1930’s.
The box has a secret opening mechanism; the lid is slid to the left which allows the box to be opened, an ingenious invention with the piano hinge shifting to allow this, the hinge marked “Patent” on the interior.
The box is lined in sycamore wood with beautifully carved compartments which house the all original early composite counters (one chip).
A stunning and rare Art Deco box in excellent condition measuring 10″ x 3 3/4″ x 2″
