Ingeborg Plockross Irminger: Danish sculptor, born June 18, 1872 in Frederiksberg, died October 25, 1962 in Copenhagen. Buried in the Søndrmarken cemetery.
As a young man Irminger became a pupil of Aksel Hansen and later attended the art school of Emilie Mundt and Marie Luplaus before being accepted as a pupil of August Saabye at the Art Academy’s School for Women in 1893. From 1899 and a few years later she worked in the studio of sculptor Vilhelm Bissen.
She was associated with the porcelain factory Bing & Gröndahl in the period 1898-1925 under J.F.. Willumsen’s management and under the influence of Effie Hegermann-Lindencrone, she modeled a number of cinerary urns, including the urn of the poet Holger Drachmann. In the course of her career, Ingeborg Plockross Irminger created a large number of porcelain figures of children and animals.
